2008 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
A medley of spicy aromas and flavors includes pear, guava, cinnamon, clove and a dash of vanilla. Medium bodied and deftly balanced, the entry through the finish is smooth and seamless, with a subtle lingering minerality. An elegant and refined style that should age well for four to six years from vintage date while also enjoyable in it's youth.
2007 Gewürztraminer It’s exciting to harvest ideally ripened Gewürztraminer. The beautifully pink fruit, small, tight clusters, and very spicy flavors let you know that you have great fruit to work with. Citrus and rose blossoms intermingle to create a heady floral perfume. Rich, yet restrained by ample acidity, the flavors are reminiscent of white peach, kiwi, grapefruit zest and a trace of ginger spice.
2008 Fly Over White
Aromatic high notes of pears and apples harmonize with more complex aromas of dried fig and baking spices, with a little contribution of roasted grains from the yeast contact. The wine is medium bodied with a round entry, good purity of fruit flavors and a crisp finish, making it ideally suited for a summer sipper or a versatile accompaniment to a wide array of foods.
2008 Pinot Blanc
Highly aromatic, notes of apple blossom, juicy pears and vanilla spice are followed by flavors of apple pie, kiwi and coconut. Full bodied, yet balanced by a snappy, crisp finish, the lingering minerality and slight toasty-yeasty aftertaste add another dimension of complexity. While youthful and tangy, give this wine a light chill and enjoy as a refreshing summer white, or let it develop addition complexity with a couple more years of bottle age.
2008 Pinot Gris
Aromas of Bartlett pears predominate and are layered with tropical notes of guava and coconut. Asian spices are common in our Alsatian varieties and are subtle yet evident in the nose and flavor profile as hints of cardamom and ginger. Flavors of Kiwi and Casaba melons add freshness and provide a smooth transition to a crisp, clean finish punctuated by a distinctive minerality. This wine should start drinking very well by fall of 2009 and through 2010.
2008 Riesling
White peach, apricot and pineapple are the primary fruit aromas with a scent of wet stone
contributing a mineral character. Acidity is the thread that weaves the fabric of this wine together and even
with a touch of residual sugar the acidity is great enough that this wine finishes dry. The flavors are intense and
sharply focused revealing honey, stone fruits, dried pineapple and a touch of allspice. The finish is
exceptionally long and tangy, suggesting that this wine will be enjoyable in the near term and age quite
gracefully.
2007 Pinot Noir
Subtle aromas suggest darker colored fruit with tones of chocolate. Medium bodied, with subtle tannins and easy acidity. Raspberries and wild blackberries on the palate. Spice and pleasant acidity intermingle with the fruit on the long, focused finish.
2006 Maple Ranch Pinot Noir
Wonderful purity of fruit in the nose, red and black fruits layered with spice, cocoa and cedar aromas. Beguiling aromas, complex and ever changing in the glass. A hint of forest floor, a little touch of fine herbs, clove and allspice all add depth and complexity. While rich and full in texture, the fine tannins add structure and the wine finishes with a silky flourish of flavor.
2008 Fly Over Red
2005 Merlot
Dark color, deep aromatics and a full-bodied texture denote a wine of intensity and concentration. The aromas are complex and include ripe Bing cherry, Satsuma plums, fine herbs and a hint of anise. While big, the entry is rich and smooth, the tannins are soft and rounded and this wine delivers the silky texture of fine Merlot. After two and a half years of bottle age, there is still a slight grip of fine tannins and this wine should continue to age well.
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
The aromas open with cedar and cigar box, black licorice and very ripe black cherry and plum. Soft and plush upon entry with soft tannins framing blackberry and cherry flavors that mingle with fine herbs and cassis. A lingering dusty, tarry depth of flavor adds complexity.
2005 Cabernet Franc
Still a youngster, our 2005 Cabernet Franc is a little closed aromatically, yet with a little time in the glass it opens to reveal high notes of blackberries and subtle floral aromas, followed by the scent of forest floor and rosemary. Medium bodied with soft tannins, generous black fruit flavors and a hint of fine herbs lasting through the finish. (May 2008)
2006 Port
100% Cabernet Sauvignon produced entirely from the impeccably farmed Del Rio Vineyard near Gold Hill in the warmer eastern reach of the Rogue Valley AVA. Very rich aromas of sweet currents and raisins continuing on the palate where they are joined by brown sugar and bright black cherries on a moderately sweet, unctuous frame balanced by a subtle acidity. Hints of tobacco and mineral. Mouthwatering, lingering finish of currants, plums and raisins. This wine requires no further bottle aging, though it will be interesting to see what happens with age.
2007 Muscat Late Harvest
An intense aroma reminiscent of jasmine flowers and citrus blossoms, with a dash of pears poached in orange zest. The flavors of pears and honey are soft and sweet with just enough acidity to keep it on the light side for a dessert wine. Well balanced with a lingering, mouthwatering finish. An excellent aperitif, patio sipper, or partner to any fruit based dessert.
2009 Muscat Frissante
An abundant fragrance of citrus blossoms and honeysuckle jumps out of the glass. Loads of fruit flavors, peaches, pears and pineapples are intense and persistent. Deliciously sweet yet delicate and lively from the effervescence, the wine is quite refreshing. While most people think of Muscat as a dessert wine, it also serves well as an aperitif and as the perfect brunch wine. Produced and consumed with Sustainable Enthusiasm!
2008 Riesling Late Harvest
Honey, apricot, figs, poached pears and clove are woven into heady aromatics and fabulous flavors. While intense and concentrated, the fine balance achieved in this wine allows the sweetness to enhance the flavors yet not overwhelm the palate with sticky sweetness. While enjoyable in its youth, for the sweet fruit character and clean finish, this unique white wine has the potential to age well and evolve into a complex and nuanced wine over many more years.
