2009 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
Fresh green and golden apples on the nose with a touch of baking
spices lead to a full but firm texture on the palate. Flavors of pear and
quince are nicely framed by the crisp acidity.
2009 Gewürztraminer
Citrus blossom, orange peel, wildflower honey and a hint of nutmeg are aromatically enticing. Beautifully balanced flavors of pineapple, guava, nectarine and a trace of ginger spice are rich yet restrained, opulent, but not over the top.
2009 Fly Over White
The nose
offers up apple blossoms and a hint of citrus while pears and
a touch of stone fruits come through on the palate. The lively
acidity keeps it focused and very food friendly, right through
to its just-shy-of-dry finish.
2010 Pinot Blanc
The finished wine has a nice juicy feel with flavors in the realm
of Bartlett pear and Golden Delicious apples. It comes across as
dry without being too austere. While it pairs well with a wide
range of food from Sushi to cold roasted chicken, its easily
approachable nature makes it an ideal aperitif or accompaniment
to a relaxed moment on the back porch.
2010 Pinot Gris The wine shows fresh apple and
quince notes on both the nose and palate. A hint of baking spices
ads complexity while a seam of minerality leads to a long clean
finish. This wine is drinking well on its release in the fall of 2011,
however we find our Pinot Gris tends peak around eighteen
months after the vintage and develop for several years.
2010 Riesling
Flavors of crisp green apple,
Meyer lemon and a hint of nectarine are framed by mouth watering
acidity that leads to a crisp, barely-off-dry finish. Anticipated
maturity: 2011 thru 2017
 2008 Pinot Noir
Subtle aromas suggest darker colored fruit with tones of chocolate. Medium bodied, with subtle tannins and easy acidity. Raspberries and wild blackberries on the palate. Spice and pleasant acidity intermingle with the fruit on the long, focused finish.
 2008 Maple Ranch Pinot Noir
Focused red fruits, giving just a nod to the black cherry end of the spectrum. Star anise, cinnamon and clove meld nicely with the judicious use of French oak. Crisp acidity offers the perfect foil to the richness of the wine and gives the balance that allows for graceful development in the bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015.
2009 Fly Over Red
Soft, ripe cherry and plum flavors and surprising
complexity and balance.
2007 Merlot
A silken texture and a fine nose of dark cherries
and dried roses. While this wine would be considered medium
bodied, it shows great balance and complexity that should carry
it for another three to five years.
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark cherries with hints of coffee and cocoa are first noted along with hints of earth
and plum. A beautifully polished mouth feel and a complex profile on the nose.
2006 Cabernet Franc Cabernet Franc is distinguished by its nose of herbs, tobacco and
forest. The fruit plays a more subtle roll than in Cabernet
Sauvignon or Merlot and shows a touch of savory as well. While
this 2006 Cabernet Franc is ready to drink on its release in
September 2010, it still seems a little shy when the cork is first
pulled. We find that as little as an hour of aeration in a decanter
really brings the wine together and reveals all of its attributes.
2008 Syrah Port In 2008 we found ourselves presented with a small block of Syrah that had achieved a level of ripeness not often seen in these parts. The very high level of ripeness and its accompanying sugar development and small berries give depth and concentration needed to balance such a powerful wine. Two years of aging in older French oak barrels rounded out the edges, yet left intact a beautiful core of black fruits and Christmas spices. Its perfect setting in our opinion is paired with candied walnuts and a wedge of Stilton cheese.
2006 Port
100% Cabernet Sauvignon produced entirely from the impeccably farmed Del Rio Vineyard near Gold Hill in the warmer eastern reach of the Rogue Valley AVA. Very rich aromas of sweet currents and raisins continuing on the palate where they are joined by brown sugar and bright black cherries on a moderately sweet, unctuous frame balanced by a subtle acidity. Hints of tobacco and mineral. Mouthwatering, lingering finish of currants, plums and raisins. This wine requires no further bottle aging, though it will be interesting to see what happens with age.
 2010 Muscat Frissante
Peachy-floral
aromas that leap from the glass while the palate is light and
lively thanks to the petulant touch of the tiny bubbles that
balance out the juicy sweetness.
 2008 Riesling Late Harvest
Honey, apricot, figs, poached pears and clove are woven into heady aromatics and fabulous flavors. While intense and concentrated, the fine balance achieved in this wine allows the sweetness to enhance the flavors yet not overwhelm the palate with sticky sweetness. While enjoyable in its youth, for the sweet fruit character and clean finish, this unique white wine has the potential to age well and evolve into a complex and nuanced wine over many more years.
